Typical Use: when attaching and tensioning ROHN Tower Down Guy terminations (1/4" Bare Strand via Cable Clamps and 5/16THH, 1/4" Strand via Pre-formed deadend and 3/8THH, 5/16" Strand via Pre-formed deadend and 7/16THH or 5/16" Bare Strand via Cable Clamps and 3/8THH, 3/8" Strand via Pre-formed deadend and 1/2THH or 3/8" Bare Strand via Cable Clamps and 7/16THH) to Closed Eye GAR30 or Integral Equalizer Plate Anchors (like GAC3455TOP, GAC5655TOP or GAC5755TOP). 17,500 lbs. Ultimate Strength. Eye to Jaw Turnbuckles typically attach the Tower Down Guy Strand (via a Big Grip Pre-Formed Dead-End and a Heavy Open Thimble) on one end to the Down Guy Equalizing Plate or Closed Single Eye Anchor (the ones that Holes as the attachment Method, ie; R-GAR30 and R-GAC3455) on the other end. Tower Guy Wire Tension Guide

The recommended initial tension in guy wires is 10% of their ultimate tensile strength. There are two different grades of steel used for good guy line (clothes line does not count), HS (high strength) and EHS (extra high strength). The Rohn manual gives the following info on 3/16 and 1/4 in cable.
