ROHN 502 Porcelain Strain Insulator for up to 3/8EHS Strand Down Guy 10,000 lbs. Rating
The ROHN 502 is a Porcelain Strain Insulator rated at 10,000 lbs. Ultimate Strength with a 5,000 lbs. Working Load Limit (WLL) for up to 3/8" inch strand. It has 5/8" holes for Clevis and Preformed Dead-end Termination Down Guy Segments with a 3-1/2" length and a diameter of 2-1/2". Guy Line Insulators are used to isolate RF (Radio Frequency) Electrical Conductivity and Passive Re-Transmission or Intermodulation by dividing guy wires into non-resonant sections. This prevents the guy lines from altering an Antenna's Radiation Pattern due to near-field interaction and for Ghosting Resonate Towers to Prevent Shadow Zones of other Transmitter Facilities Broadcast Coverage Area. A compression-type design is used and the insulator is compressed within the wire loops, so that if the insulator should break, the guy wires are still attached.
