FEATURES

 

Turnbuckle are used as adjustable extension links to maintain proper tower clearance on assemblies at tower end. The body of the turnbuckle is reverse thread on opposite ends to allow tightening/loosening by simply turning the body of the turn buckle. Made of  galvanized steel, our turn buckles are built to last and weather resistant .

Typical Use: when attaching and tensioning ROHN Tower and Telescopic Antenna Mast Down Guy terminations (3/16" Strand via Pre-formed dead-end and 5/16THH, 1/4" Bare Strand via Cable Clamps and 5/16THH, 1/4" Strand via Pre-formed dead-end and 3/8THH to Equalizer Plate Anchors (Sandwich Plated like GAC305/EP25345 or GAC303/EP25343). Eye to Eye Turnbuckles typically attach the Tower Down Guy Strand (via a Big Grip Pre-formed Dead-End and a Heavy Open Thimble) on one end to the Down Guy Equalizing Plate (the ones that use Bolts as the attachment Method, ie; R-GAC303, R-GAC305, EP25343 and EP25345) attached to the Anchor on the other end. Tower Guy Wire Tension Guide

The recommended initial tension in guy wires is 10% of their ultimate tensile strength. There are two different grades of steel used for good guy line (clothes line does not count), HS (high strength) and EHS (extra high strength). The Rohn manual gives the following info on 3/16 and 1/4 in cable.
