PCT NGNII-2S 2-way 1 GHz Coaxial Cable TV Antenna Signal Splitter
Use the Same 2-way splitter your Cable TV Company uses, like this Genesys II Series 1 GHz 2-way Indoor / Outdoor CATV Coaxial Drop Cable Splitter that offers exceptional performance and long-term reliability for 2nd TV installations, particularly in systems with cable modem applications. Genesys II splitters were specifically designed for minimizing intermodulation distortions and spurious signals. Included with the Genesys II Series is PCT’s patented Digital Seizure Mechanism (DSM), which provides significant advantages in center conductor retention, surface contact area, and electrical performance with solder-back or tongue-and-groove backplates. They offer Superior intermodulation distorion and second harmonic performance with Excellent return loss and port-to-port isolation in the return band. Patented DSM seizure technology provides increased spring retention for better surface contact (patent #6450836) u Gold-plated, beryllium copper construction for better corrosion resistance, impedance matching, and prevention of common path distortion. They can withstand a 6 kV surge, guaranteed second order harmonics performance after 5 surges to each port of 6kV (per IEEE.C62.41.1991 Category A3). Tin-plated backplate provides minimum -130 dB shielding effectiveness and superior defense against long-term corrosion factors. Expect -60 dBmV spurious signals and 2nd harmonics with a +55 dBmV input carrier. Weather-sealed “F” ports are Machine threaded and Flat.

Note

This is one of the same 2-way Splitters that Comcast uses. Its Plated Housing is Soldered Closed and Sealed from the Environment, as well as Transient and Spike Voltage Resistant. The Finish is designed to Resist Corrosion due to Weather. It will pass 1 GigaHertz worth of Forward and Return signals; making it perfect for Splitting Cable TV with High-Speed Internet and Pay per View DVR Box Connection Signals. The Voltage Protection also makes it suitable for splitting HD TV Antenna Signals as well. The Flat "F" Connector ends means that the connection to the RG coaxial cable you use (RG-6 or RG-11) is solid, secure and doesn't slip or back off after tightened with appropriate force (most Coaxial Cable Manufacturers specify in inch/pounds). When making RG-6 or RG-11 cable connections outside, a weather boot covering and some sort of Silicone compound are highly recommended.

Same one my Cable Co. uses
The money that the Cable TV charges to do anything nowadays is ridiculous. I can buy the splitters here and install them myself and save money!

2-Way Splitters are typically the Part you would use to take One (1) cable Feed and "Split" it into Two (2) in order to Provide Signal to 2 Independant Devices, or One More Cables to complete the Run(s) to their Final Destination(s). Please be Sure to Select the Appropriate Splitter not just By Manufacturer and Price. But Rather, Consider the Specifics of Bandwidth, Packaging (Indoor vs. Outdoor), Loss, Powering Requirements Up/Down-Stream and the Overall Needs of the Final System You Wish to Create...

If you are adding a splitter to an existing Cable TV or Antenna feed, you may need to compensate for the loss that you are about to introduce. The gain of a Line Amplifier should be selected to zero out the loss that follows it. In other words, if you have fifty feet of cable and a two-way splitter, then a 10 db amplifier will be fine. Conversely, if you have an eight-way splitter and hundreds of feet of cable, you will need an amplifier with a higher gain. Just as in the case of a Pre-Amplifier, however, bigger is not always better.

Commensurate with Coaxial Cable TV Antenna Splitter Installation, you want to Ground your Cable TV or HDTV Antenna Coaxial Cable System Outside before bringing the TV Cable Inside. This way, Lightning Strikes and Power Surges have an opportunity to arrest before reaching your TV and Entertainment Electronics. The Integral Grounding Block designed onto every Outdoor Use Compatible RF Signal Splitter we sell will effectively convey this unwanted Electrical Energy to a Ground Rod via a Copper Ground Wire that you Install (not included). Consult your Local Building Code and NEC for guidance to Properly Grounding your HD TV Antenna, Cable TV, WI-FI, Wireless Internet, Business Band, CB or Amateur Radio Antenna Installation.
