Note

*Per Rev G requirements, any structure greater than 10', requires a climber safety device.

Self-Supporting Towers are limited in Height due to the nature of Antenna and Ice loads versus the Cantilever Nature Of Wind against them, offset by the weight of the Foundation and the cohesiveness of the soil to prevent the chance of tower tip over, as well as the strength of the tower members to withstand these Forces against them.

ROHN Tower Kits are designed based on assumptions made regarding Wind Speed, EPA (Antenna Load), Height, Standard Soil Conditions, Surrounding Environment and Duty. The Pre-packaged Kits contain the parts called for based on this Stock Design. The Stock Design of these Kits does not account for the Variations of Historic Windspeed, Number of Antenna(e) Loading at Specific Height(s), Soil Engineering recommendations, Adjacent Structures, Communications Purpose, or Geo-Political Rules, Laws and Codes That will be Applicable to Your Project. It is Recommended that you take the time to engage an local Engineer that has the expertise and available Information necessary to evaluate the Stock design for Applicability, fill out this form and send it to support@3starinc.com

Heavy Duty Thimbles, Shackles and Clamps for Stranded Steel Wire Rope

Heavy Duty Wire Rope Clamps for Stranded Steel Wire Rope

Stranded Wire Rope Clamps (clips) are used to create secure Eye Loops on EHS Strand and Wire Rope for Tower Down Guy Termination onto Turnbuckles and Guy Brackets and non-lifting general rigging while providing 80-90% of the rope's strength when installed correctly (saddle on the live end, torqued). Key applications include securing winch lines, creating support cables for construction, and making perimeter barriers, but they are generally not for overhead lifting slings, for which swaged fittings are preferred.
When you need strength and durability, 3 Star Inc has the guy wire rope clamps and thimbles to help make strong and secure guy wire rope ends when turning back to form your loop.
We carry all the sizes you need for your guyed tower, mast pipe or telescopic pole installation, helping to make sure you get the job done. All the clamps we carry are Drop forged steel and Galvanized for Superior Corrosion Protection and Long Life, made from the highest quality materials and are double-saddled plus the are designed to allow a full wrench swing making your retightening or disassembly of nuts even faster.

Heavy Duty Fist Grip Clamps for Stranded Steel Wire Rope

Fist Grip Clamps (double-saddle clips) for Stranded Wire Rope are used to create secure Eye Loops or connect cable ends by providing even pressure, eliminating the "live/dead end" confusion of U-bolt clips, and are ideal for static applications like Tower Down Guy Wires, offering an easier, safer termination. Installation involves looping the rope, placing the clip's saddles on the live/dead ends, tightening bolts evenly with a torque wrench after initial loading, and re-torquing after testing, ensuring the clip size matches the rope diameter for maximum strength. Our Heavy Duty Fist Grip Clamps are Hot Dip Galvanized for Superior Corrosion Protection.

Open Eye HD Thimbles for Stranded Steel Wire Rope

Open Eye Thimbles are rigging hardware used with Stranded Wire Rope Preformed Dead-ends or Synthetic Lines to form strong, protective loops (eyes) for Stranded Wire Rope Termination to Shackles, Turnbuckles, Tower and Mast Pole Down Guy Brackets, Down Guy Earth/Concrete Anchors or other fittings, thus preventing the Stranded Wire/Rope from Kinking, Fraying, and Wearing out by creating a Smooth, Hard Barrier, especially useful for polyester ropes or when splicing, ensuring the line maintains its strength and shape under load. They are installed by bending the rope around the thimble and securing the end, with the open design allowing for easier insertion and use with Shackles, Turnbuckles, Closed Eye Anchors and various other appurtenances of Connection and Termination. Thimbles are available in light a on the Steel for Superior Corrosion Protection.

Bolt-Type Shackle

Bolt-type shackles are heavy-duty connectors used for permanent or long-term rigging, like in crane operations, offshore lifting, and heavy transport, because their Nut-and-Cotter Pin closure provides superior security against loosening from vibration or sliding loads, unlike quicker screw-pin types. They are ideal for critical, long-duration lifts where safety is paramount, but require tools for installation/removal, making them less convenient for quick, temporary jobs.
A Bolt Type Shackle is a more secure version used in Tower Down Guys because with a Nut-and-Cotter Pin securing the shackle pin, they remain closed even when subject to Erection, Take-down, Vibration, Ice Buildup and Rotation.

Round Pin Shackle

Round pin shackles are used for simple, in-line connections in towing, tie-down, and general material handling, where loads are straight, not sideways (side-loading), and the pin can experience twisting/torque; they're quick to use with a cotter pin but not for overhead lifting or multi-leg rigging, where more secure bolt-type shackles are preferred for long-term/permanent use to prevent the pin from loosening. A Round pin shackle consists of a round unthreaded pin that easily slides through the ears of the shackle and is secured in place with a cotter pin. They work well in applications where the pin may be subjected to torque or twisting.
